Meaning of pantheon: temple dedicated to all gods. The Pantheon in Rome was built as a home for the gods; the Pantheon in Paris was originally also built as a temple; however, was later transformed into the memorial and burial place of great French politicians and writers. There is no dome in the Pantheon in Budapest; it is a bunker, a reinforced cave vault network. There are odds and end, vulnerable objects and useless stuff stored in these bunkers; mortal objects bearing the names of gods as memories and signs, just like human beings are in desperate times. |
